Our Educational Philosophy
As American Culture – Private Bandırma College, we aim to create student-centered learning environments so that our students become active, independent and lifelong learners. We offer an education that encourages critical and creative thinking, collaboration and effective communication so that they can cope with new information, problems and unexpected situations they will encounter after graduation. We prepare an engaging curriculum for our students so that they can be responsible for their own learning and experience success.
Our Approaches to Learning and Teaching
American Culture – Private Bandırma College teachers:
- Applies the pedagogical approaches adopted throughout the school in every lesson and learning environment.
- Focuses on conceptual understanding: Concepts help students make connections and extend learning to new contexts, deepening their academic knowledge.
- Encourages inquiry: With inquiry-based activities integrated into our curriculum, we enable our students to become individuals who take ownership of their own learning by investigating topics that interest them and are curious about them.
- Uses local and global contexts: Allows students to connect new information to their own experiences and the world around them.
- Removes barriers to learning: Implement teaching methods that are inclusive and value diversity.
- Objectively assesses each student’s learning level and provides necessary additional work.
- Uses formative and summative assessments to both measure and support learning: This provides students with effective feedback.
- Creates learning plans that are appropriate to the needs of the school program and the individual needs of students.
- Sets challenging yet achievable goals for students, ensuring that every student experiences success.
- Monitors individual progress and prepares reports on meeting established goals.
- Monitors and evaluates each student’s achievements and progress and plans the necessary steps to improve their performance.
